Council approves replat to correct long‑standing lot lines in Sweetwater subdivisions

The Byron Town Council unanimously approved a proposed replat on Feb. 10 that will consolidate five existing lots into four in Sweetwater subdivisions 6–10, Block 2 of Jones Addition, to correct decades‑old boundary misalignments.
Property owner Curtis Abraham presented recent surveys and maps showing the proposed realignment and said engineers have been surveying the properties for six months. Abraham said the original lot lines were tied to a B.I.G. town improvement project and that property boundaries have been incorrect for more than 20 years. Council members sought clarification about lot ownership and responsibilities; after that discussion Councilwoman Karma Sanders moved to approve the replat for submission to the county and Councilman Brandon Hessenthaler seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously.
The replat as approved by the council will be forwarded to the county for formal review and recordation. Council did not specify any conditions on the approval during the meeting.
