Committee OKs small procurement path for missing science-room cabinet; Hopkins Hill paving planned

The superintendent said the overall furniture project had been previously approved and that, because this single item is under the district's $10,000 procurement threshold, administration may proceed without a formal committee vote. "This piece of furniture was missed… it's under $10,000 so administration can move forward with the purchase," staff said.
On paving and sewer updates, staff said Hopkins Hill paving is expected at the end of the month using impact-fee funds and that two bids were received with the lower local bidder recommended. The committee also discussed high-school sewer-line work: most of that work is funded by a federal bond secured by the town while a portion of the connection is covered by school-bond funds; staff said the bond allocation for the school's portion is nearing exhaustion and that paving is likely to be delayed until site settlement allows paving (probably into October).
Next steps: administration to proceed with the furniture purchase under delegated authority, and staff to continue monitoring the bond spend and paving schedule; further committee discussion will occur if change orders require additional bond allocations.
