At the June 10 meeting the Village Board voted to support Merrimac Fire & Rescue’s plan to purchase a replacement fire truck to replace a recently totaled 2002 tanker and to approve the sale of the old E2 truck.
Trustee Stan Senger reported the fire department would seek a loan to finance the purchase and that once the old truck is sold there may be a remaining balance that the Village, the Town of Merrimac and the Town of Caledonia would share. Gallus/Budde moved to support the department’s purchase and the sale of the E2; the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes do not state the truck purchase price, loan terms, or a timetable for the sale proceeds; Administrator Jennie Klecker and the department will work with the Board and partner municipalities to determine any remaining financial obligations.
