To meet those deadlines the superintendent recommended the board finalize the warrant article at its Dec. 18 meeting, have the selectmen review it on Dec. 19, hold the public hearing on Jan. 2 and the town meeting on Jan. 16. He said this timeline would allow staff and neighboring districts adequate time to plan for budgeting and student placements.
The board discussed whether to vote on the article that night or to wait for additional review; members agreed to form an ad hoc tuition-agreement committee to gather community information in advance of negotiations. A motion to approve the proposed dates was made, seconded and approved by voice vote.
