Merrimac Board approves zoning changes, project amendments and routine operations items

Capital and contract items: Administrator Jennie Klecker described Amendment No. 1 to Strand Task Order No. 24-03 for the School Street Reconstruction project. The amendment expands the scope to include bidding-related services, increases compensation from $50,400 to $64,200, and extends the schedule to June 30, 2027; the Board approved the amendment under a motion by President Andrew Gallus, seconded by Trustee Collin Bourgeois.
Public-works and operational approvals: DPW Justin Schultz reported the Village’s 10-year-old pH meter failed and recommended a combination pH/DO meter; the Board authorized purchase of the meter for $2,500 (motion Budde/Gallus). The Board approved Town of Merrimac monthly use of the Village burn pit once a month from May–October for a fee of $1,000 (motion Gallus/Budde). The Board also directed the Town of Merrimac to draft a contract proposal for the Village to plow Town roads Idlewild and Albrite (Gallus/Budde).
Personnel and permits: The Board approved an operator’s permit for Diana Gliden for Mac's Pub & Grub (Gallus/Budde). The Administrator reported that the Operator job posting will run July 15–Aug. 15, interviews will begin Aug. 18, and the targeted start date for the new hire is Sept. 29. Klecker and Deputy Clerk Stevens will attend UW–Green Bay Clerk/Treasurer training July 14–18.
The Board adjourned at 7:45 p.m. under a motion by Trustee Nate Taylor and President Gallus.
