Board approves Trustmark property survey as Election Commission plans move by August

The DeSoto County Board on May 4 approved a survey request for the Trustmark property to support an anticipated move of the Election Commission into the building. Supervisor Mark Gardner and Election Commissioner Sissie Ferguson discussed logistics with the county IT and Facilities teams and indicated the goal is to have the commission relocated by the end of August to allow adequate time to prepare for November elections.
The motion to approve the survey passed unanimously. County staff will continue coordination on move‑in details, including IT and facilities needs and timing.
