At the May 20 Sanbornton Cemetery Trustees meeting trustees discussed recordkeeping, minutes posting and meeting logistics and recorded several follow-up assignments.
Brendan Morrison reported that many cemetery records currently reside on his personal computer, including plot-section and alphabetical files. Trustees agreed that records should move to a Town-managed digital storage system to ensure long-term preservation and access by future trustees and town officials. Mark Brown Jr., the Sanbornton selectman liaison, provided an update on the Town’s IT and cloud-storage review and said he would follow up with options for storing cemetery records in a town-managed system.
The trustees reviewed the existing minutes-preparation process: the secretary drafts minutes, trustees perform an internal review, then the minutes are forwarded to the Town Office for posting. They noted the need to make draft minutes available in a timely manner to satisfy RSA 91-A public-inspection requirements.
Trustees set their next meeting for July 15, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at the Sanbornton Public Library and agreed to move future meetings to a 4:00 p.m. start to better accommodate the selectman liaison. Brendan Morrison will contact Bailey and Associates to address off measurements on a recent cemetery survey and will send a letter to the Town about digging and installing granite corner markers. The trustees approved the March 18, 2026 minutes (Brendan moved; Karey Caldwell seconded; Mark Brown Jr. abstained as a non-voting attendee) and adjourned at 4:12 p.m. after a motion by Karey Caldwell and a second by Phil Turner.
