CDD will participate in Pelican Sound Safeguard Panel objectives; sidewalk inspection report due in January

River Ridge supervisors assigned representatives to two Pelican Sound Community Safeguard Panel objectives (natural disaster safeguarding and street safety) and were told a sidewalk inspection report with repair estimates will be presented at the January meeting.
During Supervisors’ Requests on Nov. 19, Chair Bob Schultz said the CDD will participate in the Pelican Sound Community Safeguard Panel. The board assigned Supervisor Keith Merrill to represent the district on Objective 2 (safeguarding the community from natural disasters) and Supervisor Robert Twombly to represent the district on Objective 4 (improving street safety).
PSGRC General Manager Eric Long said he had emailed an Action Plan with seven objectives and gave an overview of panel members and objectives. He addressed questions about storm surges above 15 feet and the potential for flooding, and said he will provide an update after the panel’s first meeting, scheduled for December. District Engineer Charlie Krebs said the sidewalk inspection report is being finalized and will be presented in January with repair estimates; line‑of‑sight inspections will commence.
