CDD counsel reiterates position on Corkscrew Road ownership; Johnson Engineering to study conditions

District counsel said his view on ownership of Corkscrew Road (west of U.S. 41) is unchanged; the Village of Estero has engaged Johnson Engineering to inspect streets and the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road.
District counsel Tony Pires updated the board on Nov. 19 that his opinion regarding ownership of Corkscrew Road, west of U.S. 41, remains unchanged following his document review.
Chair Bob Schultz said the Village of Estero retained Johnson Engineering to inspect streets, walkways and other infrastructure to identify repair needs; PSGRC President Neil Collins said town‑hall discussions are focusing on the intersection of U.S. 41 and the east side of Corkscrew Road. Mr. Wilhems confirmed the study will include the west side of Corkscrew Road.
Mr. Pires and Mr. Krebs summarized the county and village stances on ownership and maintenance responsibilities based on historical documents and memoranda. Mr. Pires said he will forward contact information for Apple Signs to Mrs. Adams.
