CDD terminates Laz’s Lawn Service and hires GulfScapes amid performance concerns

River Ridge Community Development District supervisors voted unanimously on Nov. 19 to terminate the landscape maintenance agreement with Laz’s Lawn Service, citing poor performance, and to engage GulfScapes Landscape Maintenance Services effective immediately.
Mrs. Adams said the GulfScapes proposal is $58,500, approximately $13,000 higher than the $45,000 budgeted amount. Board discussion noted GreenScapes was not an option because it refused to sign the district contract. The board directed management to use funds withheld from Laz’s Lawn Service to offset the additional cost for plant replacement.
On a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Chair Bob Schultz, the board authorized terminating the Laz’s Lawn Service agreement and contracting with GulfScapes. Staff will execute contract termination and transition tasks.
