CDD approves up to $15,000 change order for irrigation repairs tied to drainage project

The board approved an Irrigation Concepts change order not to exceed $15,000 to repair damaged wiring and raise seven to eight irrigation heads as part of Seaside & Master Drainage Project preparations.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs told the board on Nov. 19 that the Seaside & Master Drainage Project scope had been revised to ease future changes, and MRI expects the work to begin within two to three weeks. During the presentation, Mr. Krebs flagged ancillary irrigation costs arising from the project and presented three line items from Irrigation Concepts: $4,002.50 to repair damaged wiring and roughly $1,300 each to raise about seven to eight irrigation heads.
On a motion by Supervisor Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Chair Bob Schultz, the board approved an Irrigation Concepts change order to repair wiring and raise irrigation heads in a not‑to‑exceed amount of $15,000. The motion passed unanimously.
