The River Ridge Community Development District Board on Aug. 27, 2024 accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expires Nov. 2026).
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter and told the Board the item would be included in a separate package for onboarding the successor. The Board discussed outreach and reached consensus that Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager should e‑blast residents about the vacant seat, candidate qualifications and a request for resumes or letters of interest ahead of the next meeting. Because the appointment will fill an unexpired term rather than occur via election, the Board emphasized targeted notice to the community.
The Board also noted the administration of the Oath of Office, required ethics training and disclosure-filing materials (sample Form 1, Memorandum of Voting Conflict form, Guide to Sunshine Amendment and Code of Ethics) will be provided; those onboarding items were deferred for follow-up. On motion by Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly, the resignation was accepted unanimously.
