Public works report: River Round Up, Farmers Market, drainage concerns and clarifier repairs

Councilmember Kenney Nauer asked about drainage problems on Hamilton and Warden Streets. Village Administrator Jung-Han Chen said the drainage issue is part of ongoing planning work and “may be addressed next year.” Chen also reported that Columbia Gas had installed a new gas line on W. North Street without contacting the village prior to cutting; he said asphalt was laid the same day and the Water Department is searching for a potential water leak in that area.
Chen said Water Reclamation final clarifier #1 has sustained damage; staff are emptying the clarifier so repair work can proceed. Chen and Nauer documented a log jam while walking a ditch and asked Public Works to schedule clearing in the fall. Council thanked Public Works for coordinating community events with Economic & Community Development staff.
