Council approves drilling test plan at McCallie School, dust abatement and consent agenda; routine reports received

Twin Bridges councilors on Aug. 12 approved several routine and operational items, including school-site testing, dust abatement, and the consent agenda, and received brief departmental reports.
TDH engineering notified the council it will drill for wastewater piping testing at McCallie School Sept. 2–5. Councilor Nolan Frandsen moved to approve the testing; Councilor JB Klyap seconded. Nolan amended the motion to require fencing of drill sites for children’s safety and timely completion; the amended motion carried unanimously.
On dust abatement, Maintenance Supervisor Rick presented quotes for a less‑toxic spray. Councilor Nolan Frandsen moved that Rick select priority streets and materials; Councilor Jordan High seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Rick told the council he expects the spray not to be noticeable on the road and that it will be safer for animals.
The council approved the consent agenda — which included minutes, bills and claims — on a motion by Councilor JB Klyap seconded by Councilor Scott Holbrook. The minutes also record reports from the sheriff, Madison County Planning Board (no new items), the library director and the fire department, which said a pancake breakfast and a controlled-burn auction were successful. Maintenance Supervisor Rick reported contractor-supplied curb material lacked binder; staff plan to blade, water and roll the material. Council adjourned at 9:30 p.m.; the next regular meeting is set for Sept. 12, 2025.
