Hillsborough trustees approve beach permit, building repair and scholarship payments

The Hillsborough Trustees of the Trust Funds voted unanimously Dec. 27 to approve several routine disbursements, including a $400 withdrawal for Emerald Lake beach permits, a $750 reimbursement for municipal building repairs and a $14,104 payment to Keene State College from a local scholarship fund.
Trustee Riché Colcombe moved to approve the minutes of the trustees’ Dec. 5 meeting; Trustee Lori Adams seconded and the trustees voted 3–0 to approve the minutes. Following that procedural vote, trustees considered requests for reimbursements and scholarship disbursement. Brett Taber, Commissioner of the Emerald Lake Village District, requested withdrawal of $400 from CR 183 (ELVD beach restoration and repair fund) to cover two permit costs; Trustee Judy Ann Thibault moved to approve the request, Colcombe seconded and the trustees voted 3–0 to reimburse ELVD.
The trustees then reviewed a reimbursement request from Finance Administrator Lauralee LoMonaco for $750 from CR 152 (Municipal Buildings Maintenance) to cover roof and chimney repairs on the old schoolhouse in Hillsborough Center. Trustee Lori Adams moved to approve, Trustee Thibault seconded and the trustees voted 3–0 to authorize the payment.
On a separate item the trustees reviewed an email from Patti Kallander, Counseling Center Secretary at Hillsborough-Deering High School, indicating that Keene State College was due a payment from the Theresa Duggan Brodrick scholarship for first-semester costs for scholarship recipient Kara Kopf. Trustee Colcombe moved to send $14,104 — described in the minutes as half of the funds currently available in the scholarship fund — to Keene State and to send the remaining funds when requested; Trustee Thibault seconded and the trustees approved the disbursement 3–0.
The meeting, held at the Hillsborough Fire Department, was called to order at 4:35 p.m. and adjourned at 5:00 p.m. Minutes were submitted by Trustee Lori Adams on Dec. 30, 2024. The trustees recorded no dissenting votes on the items acted on during the session.
