Thomasville — At its Jan. 21 meeting the Thomasville ABC Board reviewed store operations and staffing after Store General Manager Leigh Ann Lowe reported an employee resignation and floated plans for a web presence and online mixed-beverage ordering.
Lowe said inventory cycle counts remain small and are a useful management tool. She reported that employee Jasmyn Floye quit one day after receiving her Christmas bonus; Lowe said the departure was not wholly unexpected and that she is not yet ready to fill the vacancy.
Lowe told the board she is considering establishing a website to increase social presence and to enable online mixed-beverage ordering, suggesting that a part-time employee could take on the new duties in addition to normal tasks.
Board member Styers reported the city council is revising bylaws for city committees and commissions. Members noted the ABC Board is tightly regulated by North Carolina statute (cited in the minutes as NC Statutes 18-700), and no changes to the board’s bylaws were suggested during the meeting. Lowe also said the board’s travel policy historically mirrored the city’s but has not been updated; she plans to review the travel policy with the state auditor during the Feb. 26 audit visit.
The board adjourned until Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025; the adjournment was recorded as Motion-Bryant, Second-Grimes, unanimous.
