Dundee Community Forest committee orders parcel-specific NRCS plans, adds member and sets $50,000 budget

Mike Dufilho and Ben Halcyon summarized recent Dundee Community Forest work and reported that the committee voted to request separate management plans from the Natural Resources Conservation Service for each parcel. The plans are intended to separate forest-management work from invasive-species control and allow recreational planning to be tailored per property.
The committee agreed any new trails should be multiuse where feasible and avoid conflicts with abutters (for example, permitting hiking but restricting mountain biking where appropriate). As part of governance changes the committee approved adding Amanda Peterson of Bartlett as an at-large member, randomly assigned committee members staggered 1-, 2- and 3-year terms, named Cindy Sellers treasurer, and established a $50,000 committee budget under the current grant. The next committee meeting is scheduled for March 19, 2025.
Commissioners emphasized that required signage and kiosk installation are part of grant deliverables but do not need to be tied immediately to trail-construction or parking infrastructure.
