The Jackson Select Board on Jan. 28 voted to table a proposed change order that would add $114,529.26 to the Valley Cross Road bridge project and set a June completion date.
Robert Thompson, a Select Board member, moved to table the change order “until Julie receives further information”; Barbara Campbell, the board chair, seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The board discussed that the bridge loan is due in April, and some members questioned whether the contractor could meet an earlier finish date.
Burr Phillips suggested consulting HEB, the bridge contractor, about the schedule before the board approves the additional cost. Town Administrator Julie Hoyt indicated staff would obtain further information before the board considers signing the change order.
The board took no further action on the change order at the meeting; the item will return to a future agenda after Hoyt reports back.
