The Town Council approved replacement construction contracts for two beach access structures at its Feb. 17 meeting.
Waters Contracting was authorized to perform replacement construction at the Greenville Avenue access for $74,700 and at the Beaufort Avenue access for $75,200. Public Works Director Marc Schulze told council that those two accesses need replacing the most and that town staff have been pleased with Waters Contracting's work at other accesses.
Councilmember Renea Baker moved to approve the contracts; Mayor Pro Tem Austin Waters seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, 5-0. The minutes do not list a separate funding source for the work in the brief entry; staff will manage contracting and project scheduling under the town's capital/maintenance process.
