Council members also discussed related benefits changes being considered as part of the FY25-26 proposal, including a proposed 3.5% cost-of-living adjustment, raising the HSA town contribution to $100 per month, and potential final buyback payments through the North Carolina Local Government Retirement System.
The staff recommendation on insurance and any final plan selection will be reflected in the FY25-26 budget documents presented in subsequent meetings.
