The Atlantic Beach Town Council convened a closed session at 6:36 p.m. on April 21 under N.C.G.S. 143-318.11(a)(6) to consider the qualifications, competence, performance and conditions of appointment of a public officer or employee. Staff and the public left the meeting room prior to the closed session. Town Manager John O'Daniel also left the meeting at that time.
Councilmember Harry Archer moved to enter closed session; Councilmember Joseph Starling seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The council discussed the Town Manager's performance during closed session and took no formal action. The council exited closed session at 7:30 p.m. and adjourned the meeting.
