King and Queen Electoral Board sets 2025 election calendar and voting deadlines

The King and Queen County Electoral Board on Dec. 3, 2024 approved its 2025 meeting schedule and laid out key election dates, including early voting windows and voter registration cutoffs for both a possible June primary and the Nov. 4, 2025 general election.
Stuart Swilley, Chair of the Electoral Board, called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. in the Office of the General Registrar. The board reviewed the 2025 calendar and confirmed monthly board meetings will be held on the second Tuesday of each month.
The minutes list the June primary (if held) on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Early voting for that primary is recorded in the minutes beginning Friday, May 2 and listed through 5:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025; voter registration for the primary closes Monday, May 26, 2025; and the last day to request a ballot to be mailed is 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 6, 2025.
For the Nov. 4, 2025 general election, the minutes list early voting beginning Friday, Sept. 19 with an end noted as 5:00 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, 2025. Voter registration for the general election closes Monday, Oct. 13, 2025, and the last day to request that a ballot be mailed is 5:00 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24, 2025.
The board set its next meeting for 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2025. The minutes do not record any motions or votes on the calendar beyond the board’s review and adoption of the schedule as part of the meeting record.
