King and Queen Electoral Board approves security plan, reviews voter rolls and sets ADA compliance deadline

The Electoral Board of King & Queen County met Aug. 13 and approved the minutes of its previous meeting after minor adjustments; the approval was recorded as unanimous in the meeting minutes.
Diane C. Klausen, the county’s General Registrar, reported that the county’s Voting Systems Security Plan has been approved and submitted, meeting the state requirement for documentation of election system security.
Klausen also said the office had completed its required review of registered voters over the age of 100, per state requirements. She briefed the board on recent legislative changes tied to the Governor’s executive orders that affect election administration and noted any resulting operational implications would be monitored.
On accessibility, Klausen informed the board that Americans with Disabilities Act compliance and accessibility forms must be completed and submitted by Sept. 1, 2024; the registrar, the deputy registrar and the Electoral Board will each complete the form for one of the county’s five precincts.
The board set its next meeting for 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2024, and adjourned at 10:05 a.m. on Aug. 13.
