Vivian Seay told members that her recommended FY26 county budget totals $28,897,092 and recommends a .04 increase on the real estate tax rate. Seay said an architecture and engineering firm has been selected for a master site plan for a school project and that, following direction at the Board of Supervisors' retreat, staff will seek proposals for a space-needs study to address courtroom and county office space needs.
Seay also reported that repairs have begun at the circuit court building to replace the roof and exterior trim. She noted that another joint meeting of the School Board and Board of Supervisors has been set and that the firm for the master site plan has been selected.
The EDA did not act on county budget matters; Seay presented the supervisory-level recommendation and said it will proceed through the Board of Supervisors' budget process.
