Kelly Evko said she presented the county's Economic Development and EDA budgets to the King and Queen County Board of Supervisors and that the request included funds for training, outreach to new and existing businesses and associational dues. The submission also included a renewed request to make the Director of Economic Development position a full-time post.
"The request again included the request to make the Director of Economic Development position full-time," Evko said. Chairman George Longest asked the EDA to compile an action plan containing five priorities to guide the authority's work; Evko said she is preparing a top-10 list and will provide it at an upcoming meeting.
The board did not take a formal vote on staffing at the March 6 meeting; the budget materials were presented to the Board of Supervisors for their consideration as part of the county's FY26 budget process.
