The Operations Director reported operational preparations for the spring and summer seasons: servicing LBWID heavy equipment including the large excavator, mini excavator, backhoe and large dump truck to be ready for cleanup and dredging; repairing ramps at each end of the Community Garden bridge due to normal wear and tear; and researching a replacement clamshell bucket for off‑loading dredge spoils because the current bucket (about 14 years old) is misaligning and messy when unloading barges.
Staff also reviewed communications timelines: LBWID’s internal newsletter deadline is the 10th of each month and the Lake Barcroft newsletter submission deadline is the 15th. December’s newsletter deadline was missed; January featured a 2024 year‑in‑review and February’s theme will be 'Working Together for the Common Good.' The March newsletter topic was not set at the meeting.
No formal motions or votes were recorded on maintenance purchases or newsletter content during the meeting; staff described research and scheduling activities and will bring procurement details or budgetary implications to trustees as needed.
