LBWID reports new push-boat in service, equipment repairs and shoreline maintenance

LBWID said its new push-boat has been outfitted and is in use, staff repaired a bascule gate inclinometer bracket, removed a 250-foot abandoned aeration line, and handled tree removal, dredge requests and beach grill installations.
The LBWID Operations Director reported that the district’s newly outfitted push-boat is now in the water and being used, though staff expect to make minor tweaks in the following week.
Staff reported an inspection of bascule gate position sensors was completed June 12; corrosion led to fabricating and replacing one inclinometer bracket on July 9. The district removed a 250-foot section of an old aeration line dating to the 1980s after it was hooked by a boat anchor; the line was not located in the current No Anchor Zone.
Operations staff said there has been little storm debris recently because of drought conditions. A contractor assisted with removing a fallen tree at Beach 3. Since production dredging concluded, the district received two dredge requests and completed them quickly. The district also assisted the Lake Barcroft Association by installing two new grills at Beaches 2 and 4, including pouring new concrete foundations.
