Kings Park PTA approves amended budget, transfers $10,000 to capital campaign

The amended budget includes a $10,000 transfer to the PTA capital campaign to fund an electronic sign to be located before Kings Glen, $1,200 added to student-support funds, and $1,500 added to the capital campaign. Treasurer DeTurk reported that some teacher start-up funds were rolled over to the next year, and that initial teacher reimbursements had closed; midyear teacher reimbursements will reopen on Feb. 1, 2026. A website issue that had prevented teachers from submitting reimbursements was reported resolved.
The meeting record also notes fundraising results that feed into the budget: the Fun Run raised $86,000 in profit and the PTA has signed a contract with the same vendor for the following year. Officers said spiritwear distribution has begun and that Parent Night Out and restaurant fundraising nights will resume after the new year. The PTA’s stated goal in the meeting notes is to zero out the budget by the end of the school year.
