Kings Park PTA elects nominating committee, approves minutes; treasurer reports $112,000 in income

The Kings Park PTA General Membership Meeting on Feb. 6, 2026, approved minutes from Dec. 10, 2025, and elected a nominating committee ahead of spring board elections.
President Jen Argenta moved that a slate of candidates for next year’s board be presented at the PTA’s April 14 meeting; Eric DeTurk seconded the motion. The nominating committee — Nora, Michelle, and Tracy — was elected, and a ballot election for board seats is scheduled for May 21, with the location to be determined.
Treasurer Eric DeTurk reported total PTA income of $112,000 and approximately $48,000 in expenditures so far this year. Recent expenditures listed included support for grade-level teams and specialists at both schools, a third-grade field trip at Kings Park, a conference for the Center for Gifted Education (Kings Park), and an author visit and books for Kings Glen. DeTurk also said plans for an electronic sign at Kings Glen have been finalized.
Membership stood at 249, Tracy Haynes reported. No formal vote tallies were recorded in the transcript for the motions; motions were moved and seconded and the meeting proceeded to the next agenda items. The PTA Chair noted elections will occur on May 21 and that a slate will be presented at the April 14 meeting at Kings Glen.
