Wareham Select Board appoints new events volunteer, reappoints residents to committees

The Wareham Select Board on July 7 appointed Amanda Nee to the Community Events Committee and approved several reappointments to town committees.
Amanda Nee introduced herself to the board, saying she wanted to help fund and organize events that "make Wareham a really cool place to be." A board member moved to appoint her to a term expiring June 30, 2029; the motion was seconded and carried with all voting members present voting in the affirmative.
At the same meeting, the board moved to appoint Joseph Still to serve on the South Coast Bikeway Alliance, a regional group that plans bicycle infrastructure across several communities. Still described support for a planned Minot Avenue bike path and said he wanted to help the effort. The board approved his appointment with one member, Judith Whiteside, recording an abstention and the remainder voting yes.
The Select Board also reappointed Andrew Gallagher to the Recycling Committee and Jared Frederickson to the Board of Library Trustees, each for terms expiring June 30, 2029. Both reappointments were moved, seconded and approved by the board.
The actions taken were procedural appointments and reappointments; no additional policy decisions were made during the votes. The board moved on to a public hearing and other items on the agenda after the appointments were completed.
