Commission approves AE2S task orders for AWIA recertification and WTP pond assessments
Summary
The Board authorized AE2S Task Order 3 (AWIA recertification) not to exceed $17,500 and Task Order 4 (lime sludge pond assessment) not to exceed $20,000 to evaluate water-treatment assets and subsurface conditions.
The Board voted unanimously Dec. 10 to approve two AE2S task orders related to the Water Treatment Plant.
Public Works Director Kenny Bergstrom said Task Order 3 covers the AWIA recertification and Task Order 4 covers assessments of lime sludge ponds 1, 2 and 4 to determine subsurface permeability and density. Bergstrom said the AWIA software "is required to be updated every five years" and that the task orders were presented as not-to-exceed amounts; Task Order 3 was listed at a not-to-exceed $17,500 and Task Order 4 at a not-to-exceed $20,000.
Commissioner Tate Cymbaluk moved approval of both task orders; Commissioner James Bervig seconded the motion. The board carried the motion 5-0.
The approved work will support condition assessments and inform any necessary remediation or further design work for the WTP ponds.
