Union City council removes $2,690 lien on Landbank property, approves $23,600 in Renaissance grants and accepts EACOG audit

Councilor Kerns moved and Councilor Steadman seconded a motion to remove and satisfy the borough's lien of approximately $2,690 against the Erie County Landbank property at 121 East High Street; the motion carried unanimously.
Borough Manager Cindy Wells told the council the property had been donated to the Landbank and that the Landbank requested lien removal. The meeting record lists the lien amount as $2,690. The motion directs staff to remove or satisfy the lien for the full amount.
On a separate financial item, Wells reported seven Renaissance Grant applications were received totaling $60,606 in project costs and requesting $23,600 in grant funds. She said $90,547.35 remains available in Renaissance Grant funds. Councilor Steadman moved to approve the seven recommended applications, totaling $23,600 for the 2024/2025 grant period; Councilor Osborn seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
The council also considered an audit of the Erie Area Council of Government (EACOG). Councilor Osborn moved and Councilor Steadman seconded a resolution accepting the EACOG audit report as presented; the motion carried unanimously.
