Student board representative Bryce Sandlin receives 2026 NHSBA scholarship

At its May 6, 2026 meeting at the KRHS PLEX, the Governor Wentworth Regional School Board heard that Bryce Sandlin, the board’s student representative and a senior at Kingswood High School, was awarded the 2026 New Hampshire School Boards Association (NHSBA) Student School Board Representative Scholarship for the Lakes Region.
Barrett Christina of the New Hampshire School Boards Association announced the award and read the NHSBA citation, which noted Sandlin’s strong grade‑point average and a string of academic honors, including the College Board School Recognition Award, the Gold Seal of Spanish Biliteracy and the NHIAA Scholar Athlete Award. The citation also described his extracurricular involvement — Future Business Leaders of America, Student Council, NAMI Suicide Prevention and the National Honor Society — and said his references praise his eagerness to learn, community commitment and leadership by example.
The NHSBA scholarship recognizes graduating students who serve as student school board representatives; the association evaluates winners on academic achievement, extracurricular participation, community service and an essay on "The Role of The Student Voice in Decision Making." Barrett Christina closed the announcement by inviting those present to congratulate Sandlin.
The meeting proceeded to NHSBA training later in the session and adjourned by unanimous vote at 8:23 p.m.
