The Town of Whiting selectmen signed an animal control contract and set the town meeting for Sept. 30 at 6 p.m., the board recorded at its Aug. 8 meeting.
The selectmen also approved the minutes from a prior meeting and authorized a paid advertisement in Paper talks magazine for $274, with 20 copies to be delivered to the town office. The minutes note that the animal control contract was signed; the transcript does not include motion text, a recorded mover or seconder, or a vote tally. Administrative Assistant Sydney Pressley signed the submitted minutes.
Board members recorded that the town has spent $305,358 on the dam project since 2013. Selectmen also noted that Derek Stevens is handling mowing on the sides of the town roads. The board recorded a need to order a new printer for the town office.
Voting was scheduled for Sept. 23 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., and the town meeting was scheduled for Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Administrative Assistant Sydney Pressley.
