County clears routine consent items including rodeo indemnification, waterline change order and personnel actions

Riley County commissioners approved a set of routine consent items on July 13, moving through annual agreements, procurement approvals and personnel actions.
Key items approved by voice vote included:
- Annual indemnification and hold-harmless agreements for the Paul Ballard/Kaw Valley Rodeo (motion moved and seconded by S6; approved). - A change order for the University Park Waterline Relocation Project with Raleigh County Rural Water District No. 1 (motion moved and seconded; approved). - A purchase-card request for Community Corrections (P-card) (approved). - Employee action/status-change forms for Sydney Brightfogle (as-needed museum assistant) and Mary France (facilities and grounds technician) (approved). - Approval of the July 9 meeting minutes (approved).
In addition, the board approved the county clerk/budget offices indicated revenue-neutral rates for several benefit districts and special districts that do not plan to exceed revenue-neutral thresholds (including Valleywood Operations Benefit District, University Park Water & Sewer District, Terra Heights Benefit District and Carson Sewer Benefit District). For those districts, staff reported that the entities do not intend to exceed the revenue-neutral rate under current budgets; motions to approve each indication were made and approved by voice vote.
What happens next: Staff will collect required signatures and post notices where statutorily required. Public hearings for assessment and the Peterson Ranch benefit district were set for July 27; the countys combined budget hearing remains scheduled for Sept. 10.
