The River Ridge Community Development District board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman from Seat 1 (term through November 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Mrs. Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter to the board. The board discussed appointment procedures for filling the unexpired term and agreed that the replacement will be appointed rather than elected. As part of outreach, the board directed Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA Manager to send an e-blast to residents outlining candidate qualification requirements and requesting resumes or letters of interest prior to the next meeting.
Mrs. Adams also noted that materials normally provided upon appointment — including required ethics training and disclosure filing information, membership responsibilities, guidance on the Sunshine Amendment and the Form 8B memorandum for voting conflicts — will be included in the appointment package.
No vote tally beyond the motion accepting the resignation was recorded in the verbal minutes; the action was approved by motion from Kurt Blumenthal, seconded by Robert Twombly.
