The Thomasville City Council approved a consent agenda on April 21, 2025, that included administrative minutes, a contract extension for the municipal golf course clubhouse, minor corrections to the city seal, a temporary road closure ordinance for National Night Out, and a resolution supporting life memberships in the North Carolina State Firefighters Association for eligible retired Thomasville Fire and Rescue personnel.
City Manager Brandt described the clubhouse contract extension with JG Enterprises that retains the monthly rate at $500 through Feb. 28, 2027. The city also approved minor artistic corrections to the city seal intended to fix design errors. The council adopted a temporary road-closure ordinance to close a section of West Main Street in front of the police department for the National Night Out event on Aug. 5, 2025. Deputy City Manager Bowling outlined benefits for eligible retirees under the North Carolina State Firefighters Association (NCSFA) and noted the Thomasville Fire and Rescue Department will cover annual dues so retired members can retain lifetime benefits.
Council Member Neal Grimes moved to approve the consent agenda; Council Member JacQuez Johnson seconded. The motion passed 6-0.
