Representatives from Tamarack Resort and financial advisor DA Davidson briefed the Valley County Board of County Commissioners on commercial PACE (C-PACE) financing during the Nov. 17 meeting.
Scott Turlington of Tamarack Resort introduced the topic and Sam Heartman of DA Davidson (Salt Lake) continued the presentation, outlining C-PACE as a financing mechanism used by commercial property owners to fund energy efficiency and resiliency projects. Commissioners asked questions and discussed the concept but took no formal action on the matter during the meeting.
The C-PACE discussion occurred amid other agenda items, including approvals for wildfire mitigation agreements and a public hearing on winter parking fees. The board received the information and may request follow-up from staff if it chooses to pursue enabling procedures or a formal C-PACE program locally.
No vote was recorded on C-PACE at the Nov. 17 meeting. Next steps, if commissioners wish to pursue C-PACE adoption or study, would include staff research on local enabling ordinances and program administration and potential coordination with county counsel and financial advisors.
