The Tioga City Commission on Sept. 16 approved the 2025 city budget and several routine items including a Williams County 1% public safety grant application to renew the police department dash-camera system and a promotion and raise for officer Zachary Reising after his 90-day probation.
Commission President Brett Rieniets presented the proposed 2025 budget and Commissioner Jaden Iverson moved to approve it; the motion passed by roll call. Police Chief Josh Nelson presented a Williams County 1% public safety grant application to renew the dash-camera contract; the commission approved the grant application.
Nelson also presented a personnel action recommending the promotion and raise for Zachary Reising at the end of his introductory period; the commission approved the recommendation. The consent agenda — which included a planning and zoning application from NVN ND LLC, charity permit applications from White Earth Valley Saddle Club and the Tioga Fire Department for bingo/raffle events, payroll and financials — passed by roll call.
Separately, Jeffrey Moe Jr., president of the Airport Board, briefed the commission on airport projects including taxiway work and a new building and said the airport board decided earlier in the year to remove an old fuel system after it incurred roughly $8,000 in losses; he said the board is considering acquiring the fuel farm back from Tioga Aero Center.
The meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m.; the next meeting was scheduled for Oct. 8, 2024, at 7:00 p.m.
