City manager announces website launch, generator grant and plans to revive downtown events

He also described efforts to boost downtown activity — including a barbecue competition on April 25, revival of 3rd Thursdays and Food Truck Mondays — and said the city will work with Main Street and a part-time hire, Miss Davenport, to run events and social media. When asked whether Davenport would be a city employee, Meadows said she will be a part-time city employee (approximately 16–20 hours weekly) and that funds from the city and the CDC earmarked for Main Street will cover the position.
