Alma awards cemetery road work, approves rock and trucking costs and sets new lot prices

The council also approved $9,327.50 with an allowance of plus or minus 10 percent for trucking and leveling, and $9,967.10 with an allowance of plus or minus 10 percent for rock; the city will purchase the rock directly from the quarry. All three motions passed by roll call vote.
Separately, the Services Committee recommended and the council approved new pricing for cemetery lots: upper lots will be sold at $1,000 each (itemized as $800 per lot plus $200 for maintenance) and lower lots at $800 each ($600 per lot plus $200 maintenance). Council also agreed to create separate funds for lot sales and for maintenance. The new pricing will take effect for available upper lots after completion of the new road.
