Local organizers announce Libby Museum Preservation Society to restore and steward Libby Museum

Sebastian (self-identified) read a prepared statement announcing the Libby Museum Preservation Society, Incorporated (LMPS), and described its mission: "This new organization will be dedicated to reimagine and carry forward the legacy of the Libby Museum by raising enough money to restore the building or rebuild it as a replica," he said.
LMPS representatives asked the board'appointed trustee liaison to facilitate a meeting between trustees, the Friends of the Libby and LMPS to develop a plan and path forward. The statement emphasized collaboration: "The Libby Museum Preservation Society welcomes the assistance and collaboration of the select board trustees, other charitable organizations, and the public who share our goals and vision," the speaker said.
The board took the comment and did not take formal action on the spot; the speaker urged follow-up meetings with the trustee liaison and Friends of the Libby.
