Staff reports Northgate TIF community engagement and preliminary design progress

City staff reported that developers for the Northgate TIF have completed infrastructure surveys, begun public engagement (first session held June 14), and advanced preliminary phase 1 design work; two additional community meetings are scheduled.
City staff briefed the Industrial Development Board on progress for the Northgate TIF project. The developer completed field surveys of water, sanitary and storm infrastructure, held a first community engagement session on June 14 (with two subsequent sessions scheduled in mid-July and a third to be determined), and completed preliminary phase 1 design development.
Staff said the developer has coordinated with Chattanooga wastewater personnel and Hixson Utility District and is proceeding with preliminary pricing and contractor outreach. The board asked for periodic updates and staff said it would provide them as the developer advances design and engagement.
