Atlantic Beach backs PARTF grant to replace playground, expand park trail

Mayor Pro Tem Austin Waters moved to approve the resolution with Councilmember Harry Archer seconding; the motion passed 3-0. Staff told the council the final application is due May 1, 2024, and noted PARTF awards up to $500,000 for qualifying projects.
Town staff previously removed the playground equipment because of deterioration and unsafe conditions; the PARTF application would fund replacement and trail improvements if awarded. The resolution commits the town to the application and the local match or commitments required by PARTF as described in the staff report.
