Mayor outlines veteran-counts, memorial plans and economic update for Stewart County

He described ongoing work to coordinate local veteran services and praised the county's veteran service office staff for helping veterans secure compensation and benefits. "Our veteran service office right now...Tim's like me. He's he kinda doesn't get to all the events. But let me tell you what he's doing...he's working his high end off for you guys," Beach said.
Beach also described a new veterans memorial project: fundraising includes $250 commemorative bricks that will be placed at a permanent memorial site with flagpoles. "We're going to make a Veterans Memorial...we turned that and made it a Veterans Memorial," he said, encouraging purchases and volunteer assistance.
On economic developments, Beach said the industrial park attracted a $27,000,000 investment and expects roughly 105 new jobs, and he said the county will add job-posting features on a forthcoming county website to connect residents with openings.
Beach cautioned that the county does not have zoning and must balance incentives against long-term fiscal effects; he said officials are studying modest local programs to support veterans but declined to promise additional county-funded supplements without sustainable funding.
