Commission previews summer newsletter, Glen Cove ribbon cutting and Pollinator Pathways activities

At the June 10 meeting the Greenland Conservation Commission reviewed the first draft of its Summer 2026 e-newsletter and discussed upcoming outreach and events.
Vice Chair Cindy Hoonhout presented the draft newsletter and outlined planned content items including a Greenland Historical Society/Week’s Brick House gardens blurb, easement monitoring notes, the Glen Cove opening, a Pollinator Pathways seedling sale, and the raingarden ribbon cutting at Greenland Central School. Cindy said she will draft a mosquito-control piece using photographs provided by Chair Kathleen Babin-Johnson.
Kathleen and Cindy also reported on a recent ribbon-cutting at Glen Cove. Kathleen described brainstorming with Lyn Vaccaro of the Great Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve about hosting a week of family-oriented Pollinator Pathways activities at Glen Cove in August to fulfill the commission’s Pollinator Pathways obligations; exact dates and times were not set.
The commission approved outreach planning items and asked that newsletter content and an easement-monitoring update be circulated to members for further edits before publication.
