Board approves routine contracts and grant actions, including maternal produce prescription grant application

During the July 9 session the Yamhill County Board of Commissioners approved a package of routine agreements and contract changes.
Key approvals included: amendment No. 4 to Agreement No. 180161 with the Oregon Health Authority to extend the time to return unexpended funds from 14 to 45 days; an agreement with Oregon Vocational Rehabilitation for ticket‑to‑work and self‑sufficiency services not to exceed $60,000 (effective through 06/30/2035); an agreement to place Western Oregon University public‑health interns with county Health & Human Services; and authorization for Lindsay Manfred or designee to apply for a maternal produce prescription program grant through HRSA for up to $500,000 per year for four years.
The board also approved a retroactive addendum with Verizon Connect Fleet USA LLC for telematics services not to exceed $38,852.52 (07/01/2026–06/30/2027) and extended the Blue Spruce Builders contract (TR26001CC) to 08/20/2026. Two change orders were approved to address unforeseen electrical and design adjustments, totaling $55,273 and $5,102; staff said funding is available for these items.
All motions carried by voice vote with unanimous support from the commissioners present.
The maternal produce prescription application, if awarded, would increase the county’s nutrition support options; the board authorized the application but did not commit county matching funds in the July 9 action.
