The Wolfeboro Select Board held a series of public hearings on temporary event permits submitted by Parks & Recreation and community organizations and approved the applications with standard conditions. Permits approved included the 4th of July fireworks (Brewster Academy, July 4, rain date July 5), the Granite Kid Triathlon (Brewster Beach, July 18), the Granite Man Triathlon (Cary Beach, Aug. 15), the fall Festival at Fossfield Pavilion (Sept. 26), the Turkey Trot (Nov. 21), local water-ski tournaments and multiple bass-fishing events (dates as listed in packet).
Parks & Recreation staff described crowd, volunteer and safety plans. Directors and board members repeatedly asked organizers to provide parking and shuttle plans for downtown impact and to coordinate with the fire and police chiefs (multiple items; motions and unanimous approvals at SEG 619–631; SEG 676–687; SEG 735–742). Some events with potential parking conflicts were tabled for follow-up; several others were approved with instructions that organizers document overflow parking locations (Filter Bed Road was suggested as overflow in several permits).
The approvals were unanimous on the shown motions and included permit numbers for the record. Town staff will finalize permit conditions and coordinate logistics with event organizers.
