San Dieguito trustees approve foundation MOU after presentation and public comment; President Williams abstains

Trustee Michael Allman offered an alternate motion to approve the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation MOU as presented effective Feb. 1, 2026, and to convene a Facilities Committee meeting with the remaining foundations to examine economic issues (mover Allman, second Anderson). Trustee Jane Lea Smith offered a separate alternate motion to approve the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation MOU effective Feb. 1, 2026 and to approve MOUs for La Costa Canyon High School, San Dieguito Academy and Torrey Pines High School foundations effective July 1, 2026 (mover Smith, second Allman).
The minutes record a final resolution: "Motion Carries." Roll call for the final MOU vote was: Yes — Rimga Viskanta, Jane Lea Smith, Michael Allman, Phan Anderson; Abstain — Jodie Williams. President Jodie Williams joined the meeting at 4:59 p.m. earlier in the discussion but is recorded as abstaining on the final vote; the minutes do not state a reason for the abstention.
The motions establish staggered effective dates in the board’s adopted motion as recorded: the Canyon Crest Academy Foundation MOU effective Feb. 1, 2026, and MOUs for La Costa Canyon High School, San Dieguito Academy and Torrey Pines High School effective July 1, 2026, per the motion recorded in the minutes.
