Labette County commissioners approve $566,000 lease for two motor graders and authorize county contracts

The Labette County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved several procurement and contract actions during its July 7, 2025 regular session, including a lease-purchase arrangement for two motor graders and contracts for pest control, telephone services and 911 scheduling software.

Chairman Vincent B. Schibi moved to authorize commission signatures on Resolution 2025-32-A, which authorizes a lease-purchase agreement with Commercial Bank, Parsons, KS, to finance two Caterpillar 150-15J motor graders for a total of $566,000.00. The financing term was recorded as seventy-two months at an interest rate of 3.95%. The motion passed by recorded vote: Tom Barrett (Yes), Terry Weidert (Yes), Vincent B. Schibi (Yes).

The board also authorized adding the Labette County Quarry to Rottler Pest Solutions’ county pest-control management for $82.00 per month after a motion by Chairman Schibi and a second from Commissioner Tom Barrett; the motion passed unanimously. The county authorized the chairman’s signature on an agreement with Granite Telecommunications for analog replacement services covering administrative phone lines in the Law Enforcement Center; the cost was stated as $49.95 for each of the seventeen lines (frequency not specified in the meeting record). Commissioners likewise approved an agreement with Pace Scheduler for Labette County 911 Dispatch scheduling software at $1,600.00 annually. All listed motions were approved by unanimous vote.
